The Day-Before Frenzy

So it's the day before I leave for my ever-awaited trip to Spain.  I spent the entire day running around like a chicken with my head cut off, making last-minute purchases at Target and the outlet mall, exchanging money, and getting everything organized.  Now it's 2:03 AM, and my mom and I just finished weighing in my check-in bags: both under 50 lbs. (Yes!)  I think I got it all, from the jeans to shampoo to jar of peanut butter (thanks sisters).  It's time to fly the coop!  Woohoo!

So tomorrow at 1:25 in the afternoon I fly out of Portland and head to Chicago, then to Frankfurt, then to Bilbao, Spain.  From there, I'll take the bus to Santander and then a taxi to my host mom's apartment.  Conchi Zorrilla is her name, and all that I know about her is that she's 57 years old and lives with her mother (Gregoria) who is 86.  I've heard great things about them, and I also know that they have a few nieces and nephews that come around a lot.  I'll get to Conchi's apartment on Friday evening, and classes start Monday.  I've heard that some of the professors are very entertaining, and use rather unorthodox methods such as making you sit on a chair on top of a table in the front of the room and shooting questions at you rapid-fire in Spanish.  Bring it on. =)
We're perfectly normal, right?  I'll miss you girls while I'm gone!  Be good!

I plan on being signed up to Skype every time my computer has an internet connection... if you see me on, call me!  My Skype name is "erika.wilmes".  If not, you can leave me facebook messages (especially video messages!) or email me at erikawilmes@hotmail.com.

As for now, though, it's time to get some sleep.  Big day of traveling ahead!

Disclaimer:  My grammar is not always perfect.  Brittany, you are not allowed to correct me. =)
